Lizzo is giving us some important life lessons that we didn't know we needed, namely, a masterclass on how to perfect the art of doing your hair and makeup while recovering from a hangover. "Venus is retrograde and so is my hangover," she wrote in the caption of her latest Instagram post. The singer showed off the final look in a two-part Instagram photo slideshow on January 10, and the results, dare we say, are simply divine.
For starters, her face looks like a radiating beam of sunshine. Her cherry-colored cheeks impart a glow that is far from the dull, sallow complexions of the average person that is experiencing a hangover. She's also got some highlighter on the bridge of her nose that could give the sun a run for its money. There's also the possibility that some sunlight is bouncing off her nose, but whether she's wearing a highlighter or not, she's got that glow we all want.
Her lengthy, curled lashes look as if they must have at least a trace of mascara on them, but I'll have to give her extra brownie points if they're fake lashes because I simply could never, especially when I'm hungover.
Now, onto the hair. Lizzo really went to town on her hairstyle here. It appears that she put her hair up in a ponytail or half-ponytail with some braided details — that's some skill. I'm guessing that the majority of the world would much rather count sheep in their sleep than spend time perfecting their hair while feeling the after-effects of a boozy night out.
We all know that Lizzo is the queen of beauty maximalism (and of TikTok and Instagram, too), so it's no surprise that she took the time to get all glammed up even while not feeling good as hell. Most of us would probably not get dressed in our best while hungover, but maybe that's got to change. Thanks for the hangover beauty lesson, Lizzo.
